Villa Edenite

Villa Edenite is a small oasis on its own, hidden by a vast Mediterranean Pine forest, and accessed via a peaceful 450 meters sand-tar road(although posing absolutely no issue for any type of vehicle). This unique property is an awarded magazine cover estate, and such exquisite properties are rarely available for holiday rentals.

Villa Edenite is composed of three units (north and south wings and a pool house), organised around an exotic decked heated swimming pool (extra charge applies for the pool heating), and surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens, the estate spreads over 5000m2, and offers total privacy to its guests. The view of the lush green surroundings can be enjoyed from most rooms via large french doors. Villa Edenite has been carefully designed to the highest standards, with luxurious details and fittings throughout.

There are three large living areas, one in each wing, fitted with wide flatscreen TV sets with cable TV, DVD player, hi-fi stereo systems and air conditioning. There is also a formal dining room, sitting 16 people, in the south wing of the house. Villa Edenite boasts two fully equipped modern kitchens: one in the north wing and the other in the south wing, for added comfort of guests. Each kitchen has a open-plan American style design, and is fitted to the highest standards.

There are six spacious bedroom suites at Villa Edenite, and sleeping facilities for up to 14 people. Each suite has direct access to the gardens and terraces via large french doors with wooden shutters, and features unique designer details, such as a jacuzzi hot tub, a double walk-in shower room, an iPod docking station or a hi-fi stereo system. As standard, each suite boasts comfortable sitting areas, air-conditioning and a flatscreen TV set. The north wing has three suites, and the second wing has two suites. An additional suite or lounging area (both layouts are possible and keep up to the luxury standards of the estate) is available at the pool-house.

Outside, the spacious garden is immaculately kept, boasting many beautiful corners and sun traps during the day, and exceptional lounging areas after dusk, each lit with extreme care and attention to detail. The large 12x7m swimming pool with Jacuzzi area will provide hours of relaxation and fun (the swimming pool can be heated up to a temperature of 26�C, upon previous request and subject to additional payment).The pool area is equipped with parasols, deckchairs, outdoor shower, and unique lounging areas with mattresses.  The large lawned area at the back of the main house is an ideal playground for children, and the estate has its own sports and activity areas. Hidden within the private gardens, the private lake is amongst the most special features of Villa Edenite, and makes each guest feel truly privileged. Over an elegant and modern wooden structure, a Nikki Beach-style bar and lounge is the perfect setting for a night cap: a celebration of life and success. The Nikki bar lounge has been featured in music videos and magazines.

For guests' entertainment, Villa Edenite also boasts two additional bar areas: the club in the south wing (with music equipments, sitting area, disco ball and pool table), and the barbecue area. Each of the bars is fully equipped with fridges and cutlery.

The house is luxuriously decorated and fitted for the posh and selective guest, yet blending in perfectly with the relaxed atmosphere of the countryside which surrounds it. Satellite TV with international channels, internet access, air-conditioning and stereo system enhance your enjoyment, on most rooms. Villa Edenite is the ideal choice for the discerning traveler who seeks nothing but the very best life has to offer. There are magnificent beaches and sights nearby, but guests find it very hard to ever leave the villa.

Location information:

With the Arrabida mountains as its backdrop, Villa Edeniteis located in Pinhal dos Frades, a peaceful residential area near Herdade da Aroeira golf resort, halfway between Lisbon and Sesimbra. Nearby Vila Nogueira de Azeit�o is a small historic town, surrounded by the Arrabida Nature Park and well known for its vineyards and wine cellars open to the public, which are definitely worth a visit. On the South Coast of the Setubal Peninsula, Portinho da Arrabida beach is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal and Southern Europe, and boasts a natural bay with calm and clear turquoise waters, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Closer to the estate, Fonte da Telha and Meco sandy beaches are less than 5km away if you opt to use a bicycle across the protected woods, or a short drive away (15km).

Apart from Lisbon (20km away) Azeit�o, Setubal, Palmela and Sesimbra are easily reached, making the self-catering villa an ideal base for unforgettable daily excursions. Sesimbra, a short drive away, is a quaint fishing town, famous for its castle, beach and beautiful sea front. Palmela has a towering very well preserved castle. Setubal has excellent fish restaurants by the sea front and a ferry to the nearby resort of Troia. Boat trips are organised to watch the dolphins living in the Sado estuary. Villa Edenite is situated near the Natural Park of Arrabida, a unique protected area established to support the beautiful landscape and rich variety of wild life, including eagles, wildcats and badgers. The surrounding mountains and woods are the perfect place to go for a walk, and excursions can be organised with the local nature tour companies.

Beaches:  

Villa Edenite is surrounded by many sandy beaches to the South and West, all with different characteristics. The magnificent bay of Portinho de Arrabida, with its clear quiet waters, is a must-see and is a short drive away. Sesimbra, Fonte da Telha (4km away), Meco, Lagoa de Albufeira and Troia beaches are all easily accessible.

Golf Information: 

• Aroeira Clube de Campo de Portugal is located near the estate, and boasts two championship 18 hole golf courses, which staged the Portuguese Open on several occasions. Expect world class conditions all year round thanks to its sandy soils and friendly micro-climate. Both courses present a difficult but pleasant challenge, crossing mature pine woods and well protected greens.
• Quinta do Peru Golf & Country Club is also within a short drive, and offers a friendly family atmosphere, which makes this club an enjoyable and relaxed experience, and its diversified course with immaculate fairways offers excellent views over the surrounding countryside.
•  Tr�ia Golf (15 kms and a ferry away), is a very difficult championship links, but one of the most beautiful in Portugal. Other courses are available within the area: Riba Golf (two 18 hole golf championship courses within a cork tree estate); Montado (18 hole park course), Palmela Villa (9 hole) and Aldeia dos Capuchos (a short 9 hole course with beautiful sea views, ideal for short game).

Gastronomy and wine tasting:

The region of Azeit�o is renown for its gastronomy, and even the local supermarkets, such as Intermarch�, have a mix of local gourmet and standard fresh products; the supermarket is about 3km from the villa. The local gastronomic festival is held from June to September. Fresh grilled fish is an inexpensive delight. Five formal wine routes have been devised in the Setubal peninsula by the 'Rota de Vinhos' association, combining wine tasting with sightseeing, arts and nature. Villa Edenite is ideally situated to take best advantage of these delights of the area.

Getting there and around

Two hours flight from most European cities and seven from New York, the villa is reached by car from Lisbon Airport in less than 30 minutes. Faro airport is 2 hours away. The motorway junction is 6km away. *A car is recommended as there is no public transport to the villa.
